Beef Noodle Soup – Lao Pho

Like the Vietnamese equivalent this gorgeous soup is a combination of a simple but fragrant meat broth which is ladled over super thin raw beef slices (which cook from the heat of the stock), rice noodles & tomato slices in a deep bowl. You are served a side basket packed full of fresh goodies! Lettuce, snake beans, mint, chilies, basil, coriander, morning glory, bean sprouts & more! And then there’s the sambal oelek (chili sauce/paste), fish sauce, pepper, sugar, soy… The idea is to add as much or as little of everything as you like for YOUR perfect soup, chopsticks are a MUST!
Let me just say, with no exaggeration or hesitation, this really is…

More travelicious pics to come… 🙂
